Google and Me.

After long wait, Google is finally allowing users to log/view their web history and to modify searches according to the web pages they browse and text they search.

Lots of features have been incorporated by the Google along with the basic storing of the search and click history. At any time you can remove certain links/searches which you won’t like to being displayed in your history. Resume/pausing this logging is just a click away. Google zietgeist was only effective in displaying the top queries over a span of time by all the Google users. User was not able to view his top queries, or the history of the links he visited. Also, it syncs bookmarks into the Google in real time manner. Well, good for me, as I never liked Delicious because of the lack of drag and drop feature which I can very well do in Firefox. I have all my bookmarks on Firefox toolbar, and I just need to drag a tab to the folder I want it to bookmark in. Well, you can always sync your Firefox bookmarks with Delicious, but as it is not realtime, it does not sounds a very good solution for me. Well, now as Google offering to sync the bookmarks in real time I don’t think I would ever feel the need of delicious. Still, I hope that delicious Firefox toolbar developer will incorporate drag and drop feature in it very soon. :)

Also, with Google launching its new AJAX API for feeds, I would finally be able to add a javascript support for feeds on my site. I mean, support through which I can display feeds on my site. As my server administrator doesn’t allow me to use any server side scripting language, I was not able to do that previously. Well, Thanks again Google. :)

Still THINKing ..

Well, the idea came to me yesterday while I was excogitating over the existence and evolution of human beings/mutants while watching Heroes.

After my Grand Viva on Thursday, I had nothing special to do the following day. Also, after another rejection from Google’s side, this time it was Google Summer of Code, I was not in the mood to give my pending projects a hand. So, decided to delve into the brighter side of the life(according to people surrounding me) for the next 3 days. That means giving another shot to completing one season of any of the TV series available on LAN in a day.
One friend of mine told me that first season of “Heroes” is quite a treat to mind a good show to waste your time over, so Arpit, you should give it a shot. Well, I accepted as I always do. :) .. Woke up around 1 PM on Saturday…. had chat with a frnd for some time.. roamed around here and there to find something good to do …… disappointed then came back to room Downloaded few starting episode of Heroes and started watching it never to stop…
As I was losing myself more and more into the plot of the serial, I forgot all about the fact that I have a presentation to give on Information Retrieval on Monday.. Also I forgot to had my dinner ( breakfast and lunch I already skipped)… So was just lying on my bed doing nothing but downloading and watching episodes of heroes… and with the increasing count of the episodes, I was losing the characters of all the characters .. with every new episode two new characters with different capabilities were introduced and it was becoming increasingly difficult to capture the essence of the theme. Anyway, completed the series at 8 Am in the morning (15 hours straight..:( ) … closed kplayer just to watch plenty of messages from Google Talk just to remind me that I have more important issues to take care of.

Well, nothing can be done then, as it was already 19 hours since I woke up… so went to bed :)

First one ..

Well after a long time.. after creating 4 temporary blogs(just to figure out how templates work in blogs) and 1 permanent one(a group blog in which i never posted), here goes my first attempt at utilizing the fine features of one more of the web2.0 services.. Blogs.

Though writing has never been my cup of tea, I think as long as no one reads my posts, posting blogs would help me in expressing myself (to me) and also inclining my mind a bit towards the brighter side of .. I don’t know.. something ..
